When it comes to artist’s portfolios, there’s a lot that WordPress can do to make your work stand out. It all comes down to making sure your work is good, but also that you make it easy to find. The following is a list of 10 tips to make sure your work stands out from the rest.
I know that this seems like an obvious thing, but there’s a lot of artists that don’t care about making their work easy to read. There are many reasons why this is, but the easiest is because it’s a pain in the butt to create the files for custom fonts. You have to be good with Photoshop, and if you are, it can be a lot of work to create fonts for your portfolio. It’s not hard to imagine if you have been creating logos and other business graphics for a while that making fonts is hard work. If that’s you, it’s time to make your work a little easier to read.
What you see above is an example of a consistent layout. The title and description are both on the left. The image is center. The description and title are of the same font size. All of the images are in a grid. And they all fit on the page.
This is a very simple and effective way to make sure your portfolio has consistency. I created this design and I used the same font, image size, and grid in my other designs. It’s what I would expect. And it will ensure that the rest of your portfolio looks good, as well.
The key to making your portfolio consistent is to make sure all of your images are in the same file format. This isn’t an easy thing to do, so it takes some time, but you will have a portfolio that will make all of your work stand out.
