I don’t know about you, but I need a vacation. Where should I go? Should I go to a resort? Should I go on a cruise? Should I go on a tropical vacation?
No. It’s too easy, too touristy.
I need something more adventurous, something off the beaten path, something I can only find in the wilderness of Alaska. This time I’m taking my new fishing buddy, my dog, and my canoe. Oh, and I have to go on my own, no more of those crazy, wild, overzealous couples who think they can tag along with us, even though I have told them, “No, you will not be allowed on our trip. It’s just me and my fishing buddy, my dog and my canoe”.
Picking a WordPress is a similar endeavor.
Anyway, back to my vacation plans. Hawaii? Aruba? Jamaica? Where should I go? What do I want from my vacation? What’s my dream vacation? There is no answer to the first question, unless you think you can have it all. If that’s the case, then maybe you should consider Australia or Italy.
But I think we all know that none of us can have it all. So I think it’s safe to say that we all have similar things we are looking for in a vacation. I think that the best way to choose which island is the best is to look at what your dreams are and then pick the location that is the best match for you. If you dream about going to a tropical island, I would suggest Aruba, Bora Bora, or Tahiti. If you dream about being in the midst of some of the great wilderness in the world, then maybe you should consider Alaska or Argentina. If you’re looking for a good party, then Hawaii or Bora Bora might be your best bets. If you are looking for something off the beaten path, then Alaska or Argentina may be your best bet. You will have to decide what is the most important thing to you and then choose accordingly.
I hope you have a good vacation. I’m off to get myself ready for my dream vacation. A vacation to WordPress land.
That’s right, I’ve duped you, this is about boring old WordPress. Not fun, cool vacations.
What do you look for in a travel blog or travel magazine? For me, it comes down to personal experience and honesty. A blog has to be well written and full of honesty. There should be something real, there has to be something there, something that can relate to you and your travel experiences. A magazine article can be the same thing, but with the added benefit of pictures. It is easier to make yourself look like an expert in a picture than in a text. So if you have an interesting travel article or a nice travel photo, it will get the attention of many readers, many times than a well written text.
In terms of writing about your latest adventure or a cool new destination you’ve discovered, it might be an interesting concept. And you could use an article on travel photography to sell the photography skills that are part of your business.
But a website or blog isn’t a magic wand that will make your travels the stuff of legend overnight. It takes some research, some writing skills and a fair amount of time and effort. I am not a native English speaker, and I don’t even speak good English, so I am not able to be a travel writer. Even if I wanted to be, I can’t. I am not a journalist, nor do I have any great knowledge about travel. I am a photographer, and I have a few nice photos, and I like to share my knowledge with my fellow travelers.
I don’t have much else to say about travel blogging, and I don’t have much to do with it. But I do know WordPress, and selecting the right theme is half the battle. I think Trawell is a really solid option, to be honest. I don’t know anything about travel blogging, and I don’t want to know anything. I like to tell stories about places and people in my own way.
I have nothing else to offer in this topic.
